A few weeks ago I was contacted by my dream customer: a person who was respectful of my work, who was able to listen to my advice, appreciate them and let me tell them my vision of things.
It was a short photo shoot but a great experience – for me – that I would have willingly prolonged to derive some healthy professional pleasure …
but Kyohey and Ryoko had to go back home: they are Japanese, and every year for their anniversary they give themselves an elopment with a photo shooting, in which they use the same clothes as their honeymoon.
They had clear ideas about what to do and do not do (the poses and formality of the images are not my choice), and the proverbial Japanese confidence was hard to overcome: sometimes I even managed to see a smile while I was photographing them; being carried away by a pleasant conversation – instead – or by a joke and by some joke was possible.
Perhaps they understood how much passion they were following, and they lent themselves to the game.
Perhaps we have become truly friends.
I went to meet them on Wednesday evening, as soon as I was free: I proposed to let Lucca visit them, and they accepted happy, while making clear that they were not ready to be photographed.
It was an excellent opportunity to get to know each other more deeply, eat together the traditional Lucca dishes and feel that city again on my skin (Lucca in my heart).
Thursday, from dawn for the next 4 hours, we turned the center of Pisa pausing every time the scenario invited us to do so.
After a short breakfast in Via Santa Maria in Dolce Pisa, we retired inside the Rossi Theater (I will never cease to thank my “contacts in Havana” for allowing me once again to take pictures inside).
Friday morning another 3 hours of photo shoot in the two beautiful green spaces of Pisa, the botanical garden of the university and the Natural Park of San Rossore, accompanied by a light rain but happy to be able to do something more.
In the end, back to sore legs and legs, I found myself happy to have faced these busy and tiring days, with the awareness of having achieved all my goals.
Countless messages of thanks made me understand, then, that my work was appreciated, as well as the management of the human side of a very intimate photo shoot.
To thank me once again, Kyohey and Ryoko offered their willingness to grant me the right to publish.
I appreciate very much, convinced that I did my best to see the best Pisa!
