Destination wedding photographer in Tuscany: a narration of your love story
Are you thinking of celebrating your wedding in Italy, in a location that combines romance, history, and breathtaking landscapes?
Tuscany, with its rolling hills, medieval villages, and unforgettable sunsets, is the perfect destination for your dream wedding!
It’s no coincidence that couples from all over the world choose this region as the backdrop for their “I do.” A wedding in Tuscany is much more than an event—it’s an experience that will remain etched in your memory and that of your guests forever.
However, remember that a perfect wedding needs to be told in the right way.
This is where I come in. My name is Livio Bargagli-Stoffi, and I am a destination wedding photographer, mainly operating in the provinces of Pisa and Lucca, although I have had the privilege of working at numerous weddings throughout Tuscany.
With my work as a wedding photographer in Tuscany, I am ready to capture every emotion, every smile, every authentic moment of your special day.
Destination weddings in Tuscany: some of the best locations
If I’ve intrigued you and you’re considering Tuscany as the destination for your wedding, I’ve prepared a brief list of what I believe are the best venues and locations in the region.
Villa Oliva, Villa Grabau, Palazzo Pfanner
In Lucca, you’ll find Villa Oliva, a historic residence surrounded by Italian-style gardens that captivate with their perfect symmetry and panoramic views.
Strolling along its paths, adorned with statues and fountains that seem to breathe the Renaissance air, is like stepping back in time, while the villa’s refined architecture creates the ideal backdrop for an elegant ceremony.
Not far away, Villa Grabau welcomes guests with a botanical park stretching over nine hectares.
It’s the perfect setting for a wedding immersed in nature, offering the option to host the reception among ancient trees or in indoor spaces rich with historical details.
For those who desire a touch of baroque, Palazzo Pfanner, also in Lucca, is a unique choice. With its opulent interiors and monumental garden, it evokes a romantic and regal atmosphere, ideal for those dreaming of a fairy-tale ceremony.
Villa Corliano, Villa di Artimino, Tenuta Corbinaia
Moving to the Pisa area, the majestic Villa di Corliano in San Giuliano Terme stands out.
This Renaissance villa, adorned with frescoed rooms and surrounded by lush gardens, is one of Tuscany’s most prestigious historic residences. Its intimate and sophisticated ambiance makes it perfect for exclusive weddings.
For those who love the blend of history and breathtaking landscapes, the Medici Villa of Artimino in the province of Prato offers a unique panoramic view.
Once a Medici residence, this villa combines the elegance of the past with the opportunity to host outdoor weddings, surrounded by the tranquility of the countryside.
Finally, for those dreaming of a wedding in a rural yet refined setting, Tenuta Corbinaia (in Montespertoli, in the province of Florence) is an impeccable choice.
Nestled among vineyards and olive groves, this estate combines the authenticity of Tuscan tradition with the exclusivity of well-maintained modern spaces, providing a stunning setting for exchanging vows at sunset.
Why choose a local wedding photographer for your destination wedding in Tuscany?
Is organizing a destination wedding in Tuscany your dream? To turn it into reality without stress, it’s essential to rely on professionals who know the region well.
A photographer already operating in Tuscany offers several advantages that make your wedding not only unforgettable but also easier to manage.
Knowledge of the territory is one of the main strengths. Working in Tuscany means knowing exactly which locations provide the best light, the most picturesque views, and how to make the most of every corner to create extraordinary images.
Another key aspect is the network of local contacts. Regular collaboration with wedding planners, venue managers, and other vendors ensures seamless synergy during the event. This translates into less stress for the couple and impeccable organization.
Moreover, an experienced destination wedding photographer understands the needs of international couples. They know how to work discreetly, adapt to different cultures, and respect the details that make each wedding unique.
Finally, logistics. Being based in Tuscany eliminates travel costs and offers greater flexibility, including the possibility of site inspections and pre-wedding sessions.
My style: telling your destination wedding in Tuscany with authentic emotions
My approach as a destination wedding photographer is based on three fundamental principles: discretion, empathy, and attention to detail.
I strive to be present without being intrusive, to observe and interpret moments so that the images feel alive and genuine.
I don’t just take photographs—I work to capture authentic emotions, meaningful details, and unique moments that make your day special.
My method relies on documentary photography, a style that allows me to capture every moment naturally and spontaneously, without ever interrupting the flow of the day.
When I photographed the English wedding of Hanna and Gavin in Lucca (a civil ceremony at Palazzo Orsetti, followed by an evening reception at the Forestarìa farm), I had the privilege of working with a couple who desired an intimate and sophisticated event immersed in the magic of Tuscany.
As a destination wedding photographer, I focused on capturing not only the beauty of the location but also the emotions shared among the guests.
The result? A visual story filled with smiles, loving glances, and moments of pure joy, captured without forced poses.
Another example was the American wedding of Andrea and Chris in Florence (ceremony and reception in Coreglia Antelminelli), two foreign spouses who chose Tuscany for their destination wedding.
With them, we also organized a beautiful pre-wedding session a few days before the wedding, taking pictures amidst Florence’s landmarks (starting from the Duomo and Baptistery, through the Uffizi, along the Arno River with views of Ponte Vecchio, and ending at San Miniato al Monte with its dramatic staircase).
On their wedding day, my focus was on the details that made their ceremony unique: the romantic atmosphere of the Tuscan countryside, the couple’s gestures of complicity, and the warm tones of natural light.
Each shot was designed to reflect not only the beauty of the venue but also their personalities and vision of a perfect day.
An equally enchanting experience was the wedding of Aleksandar and Madeleine at Borgo Studiati, Molina di Quosa (Pisa), a couple who chose to celebrate their love amidst the breathtaking Tuscan hills.
The day unfolded in a perfect blend of elegance and spontaneity, with an intimate ceremony followed by moments of pure joy shared with their guests.
On this occasion, my goal was to highlight the deep bond between the couple and the extraordinary natural setting, capturing genuine emotions and the vibrant colors of the landscape.
